About Leone
Some coaches understand business. Others understand people. Leone Patterson has lived both — at the very highest level.
Competing as an Olympic basketball player taught Leone what it truly means to perform under pressure, lead a team, and push past what you thought was possible. Those lessons followed her directly into the boardroom. Over a 20-year career as a public company executive — CFO, CEO, and board director — she has raised over a billion dollars in capital and led companies through IPOs at the top of the biotech industry.
Today, as an ICF-certified Martha Beck Wayfinder Coach, works with two kinds of women — senior leaders who want to build careers that are both high-performing and sustainable, and women ready to step back, find their true direction, and build a life that genuinely fits who they are.
Woven into everything Leone does is the wisdom of her Māori heritage. She draws on a worldview that sees personal growth as deeply connected to identity, community, and purpose — not a solitary pursuit. It is this cultural grounding that gave Koru Coaching its name, its symbol, and its heart.
